Really, everyone is part of one big ‘core team’, but how much team members ‘specialise’ into different areas fluctuates and is led by them. Therefore, ‘Core Team’ will be the collective name for everyone who is happy doing a bit of everything, and/or is still figuring out what their interest areas are and how they can contribute.
→ Our Core Team Vision:

🌱 Following the Footprints will be defined by the team members that join us, and get stuck in building it. We picture the ‘Core Team’ being a mix between a content hub, a launchpad, and a SWAT Team. This will keep things flexible and collaborative - two core values of our team.
Content Hub - Aligning with ‣, the Core Team is essential for the weekly running of our newsletter, and a lot of our ‣ too.
Launchpad - Helping enthusiastic and inspiring individuals get to grips with all that we do, before they join or start a sub-team that aligns with their interests.
SWAT Team - What we focus on also fluctuates each month, from pop-up shop collaborations to databases to website launches. It’s been essential for us to get stuck into different areas as a team, and this won’t change.

→ What we’re currently focused on:
- The weekly newsletter. Our weekly newsletter sits at the heart of FTF. Through our weekly small brand profiles and quick takes on hot topics, we give readers the inspiration to take positive steps and the resources to follow through on them.
- You’ll be supported by the ‣ team, and everyone else in the team.
- See an example here.
- Good News Roundups. Each week, we scour the internet to find the latest news and exciting developments - from small brands doing big things, to industry collaborations and cutting edge research. Contributing to this is done by everyone, the ‘core team’ in particular.
- Any special projects / sprints that are needed. For example, it’s been a collaborative effort across the whole team to find and track MEASURE and our (soon to launch) MITIGATE databases.
→ Just some of what you could be doing:
- Newsletter contributions. 300-400 words, with one Quick Take and Brand Profile each month (maximum). Each contribution will be pitched and written by you, and supported by the team.
- Sourcing Good News: Finding links to good news stories about small brands, industry leaders, relevant news (scientific and other) to brands, and sharing them with the group each week.
- Finding resources: Suggesting articles, podcasts, resources and other interesting links for readers to 'follow up with'.
- Engaging in our peer-review process: We collectively hone our tone of voice and help each other make our content the best it can be. All members play an important part in this process.
- Working with each sub-team, for short-term projects. From sprints to complete ‣ databases, to ‣ events and engagement, through to special projects that ‣ are experimenting with *and more…*there’s a lot going on that you can jump into!
- Spinning out short term projects. Our COP26 and COP27 calendars (linked) are really good examples. Really well received, and relatively simple to execute. Who knows what will be next…
- [Insert contribution here]: If there’s something you think that would be a valuable addition to what FTF offers, pitch it, own it, make it happen!
